In 1962, B-Bauwerk AG is founded as a building and civil engineering contractor by Kurt Glur-Reist. This lays the foundation of today's group. From the outset the focus is on solid craftsmanship, regional roots and the ambition to deliver projects with quality and lasting value.
In 1990, Hans Wanzenried joins the company as a partner and takes over operational leadership in 1997. Under his direction the firm grows in the Saanenland, Obersimmental and Pays-d’Enhaut to up to 100 employees. Bauwerk thereby strengthens its regional presence and lays the basis for the further development of today’s group of companies.
In 2010, Bauwerk Unternehmungen AG is founded. It forms the strategic holding company under which the group's individual businesses are brought together.
In 2013, Jonas Wanzenried joins Bauwerk AG as deputy managing director and takes over operational leadership in 2015. Under his direction the regional roots are developed further: with the founding of Ouvrage SA in Château-d’Oex the company strengthens its presence in neighbouring western Switzerland, while a branch in Zweisimmen opens up the Obersimmental further.
In 2018, the three specialist companies B-Solartec, B-Amiasan and B-Operate are founded. Alongside B-Bauwerk AG, a portfolio of focused companies for energy, remediation and operation emerges.
In 2021, Timon Wanzenried begins his work at B-Solartec. Since 2023 he has held operational responsibility for B-Solartec AG and B-Operate AG, continuing to develop the energy and operation areas. In this way the next generation expands the group with future-oriented expertise and develops innovative solutions for energy generation, storage and the long-term operation of technical systems.
Today, the B-Gruppe stands for the joint development of the Bauwerk Unternehmungen: B-Bauwerk AG, B-Solartec AG, B-Amiasan AG and B-Operate AG. Out of more than sixty years of experience emerges a group that unites building, energy, remediation and operation under one roof.
